Improving the underwriting process


In order to keep improving our services and get more efficient in our analysis, we are pleased to inform you that Desjardins Insurance has decided to go to the next level in terms of obtaining information faster with less effort from the representative. 

Starting October 17, if we need additional information about the insurability information provided by the applicant (whether from the application for insurance or the paramedical exam) instead of sending a request to the agent or ordering an additional requirement (like an Attending Physician Statement), the underwriter (or someone from our Medical Underwriting call center) will contact your client to obtain the missing information.

We’ve already implemented this with some networks and it’s proven to be very efficient. We’re confident that it will help to significantly reduce delays in several applications.

Rest assured that this process will be carried out with the utmost respect for your clients and in accordance with all confidentiality standards.

Please note that even if the applicant has been reached, additional requirements might still be necessary.
