Transition rules 

An application for any new term insurance policy received after April 28, 2017 that was signed before May 1, 2017, or still pending on May 1, 2017, will be processed using the new rates if the new rate is more favourable to the applicant, subject to Underwriting approval.

Any application signed before May 1, 2017 that is processed using the new rates cannot be backdated prior to November 1, 2016.³
