 The outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel coronavirus that was recently reported in Hubei, China continues to expand internationally. The Government of Ontario reported the first case of coronavirus in Canada. There are now three confirmed cases of coronavirus within the country.

While the Public Health Agency of Canada stresses that the risks posed to Canadians remains low, we want to assure you that we’re taking measures at Canada Life to ensure the safety of advisors, employees and our clients.

Check Headlines on RepNet for the latest updates as we continue to actively monitor the situation through our global threat monitoring system and government agencies, including the World Health Organization and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Our Incident Management Team is meeting regularly to ensure we are prepared and able to respond if needed. We have developed guidelines for employees who may have recently traveled to, or are soon to return from, the affected region in China.
