SSQ Insurance merges two legal entities

We wish to inform you that the merger of SSQ, Insurance Company Inc. and SSQ, Life Insurance Company Inc. is to take effect on January 1, 2020. The legal name of this resulting entity will be SSQ, Life Insurance Company Inc. This is the company you will be doing business with as of January 1, 2020.

This merger will have no impact on our customers since all contracts and coverage in force at the time of the merger will remain valid.

The renewal and claim processes as well as our contact information will remain unchanged.

All legal documents (contract and policy, application, endorsement, medical form and insurance certificate) have been updated and these new versions must be used as of January. However, marketing documents bearing the name SSQ, Insurance Company Inc. remain valid and will be updated when they are reprinted. 

Please prioritize electronic versions

For environmental reasons and to ensure you always have the most up-to-date versions, we recommend using our online electronic application forms and documents.

The new insurance application forms and medical questionnaires will be available as of January 20, 2020, on our secure site. If you need a printed copy of these documents, you will be able to order them as of the end of February. However, the application dated October 2019 remains valid until April 2020.
