NEW LEGISLATIVE OBLIGATIONS | CHANGES MADE TO OUR FORMS

As of June 1, 2023, several investment product forms will be modified to reflect the updated Desjardins privacy policy and the requirements* of An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec (Bill 96). Considering the numerous changes to be made, they will be done gradually. We will keep you informed of the progress of the changes.

* These requirements will take effect as a result of the changes made to the Charter of the French Language and the Consumer Protection Act.

Bill 96

In accordance with the guidelines of Bill 96, English‑speaking clients living in Quebec must receive a French copy of the contract application and related documentation.

To this effect, a bilingual consent clause will be added to the English forms to obtain the express will to subscribe to a contract in English instead of French. By signing the contract, English‑speaking clients living in Quebec implicitly agree to this clause.

Failure to provide the French version could result in the contract being void. It is important that the process put in place be efficient to avoid oversights.

Privacy policy

Desjardins recently updated its Privacy policy which clarifies how we handle and process the personal information of the clients.

The changes related to it will be made gradually in each of our business lines.
