This eye-opening session focuses on unintended and undesired results of short-sighted estate planning that does not consider the big picture when naming beneficiaries in a will or on an application for investments or insurance. I have an overview session that covers insurance and investments and two deep dive sessions, one that is insurance focused and one that is investment focused. The session you heard most recently most likely was investment focused. All sessions are standalone in that you need not attend any one particular session first.

Attendees will learn about efforts to avoid probate and obligations and simplify estates by naming beneficiaries that can lead to ‘blow ups’. Each session will take you through a number of case studies highlighting strategies used and the pitfalls created. A number of misunderstandings will also be covered. Attendees will take away lessons that they can use in guiding clients through the planning and review processes which can reduce the financial and emotional fallout for their clients.
